At Alcovy River Farms, every animal has it’s own personality and is a part of our family.  We hope you will join us on this journey and meet the herds of Alcovy River Farms as we feature a new animal each month.  Every farm has at least one animal that everyone can’t miss.

Around here, that’s Pistachio. 🫏

Whether he’s greeting us at the gate, sneaking up for some head scratches, inspecting whatever we’re doing, or making sure he doesn’t miss a thing, Pistachio has a way of making everyone smile.

Like all of the animals at Alcovy River Farms, he’s part of our daily routine. We believe that spending time with our animals—not just feeding them, but handling them, observing them, and getting to know their personalities—is one of the most rewarding parts of farm life.

Pistachio reminds us that while breeding programs are built on genetics, structure, and sound management, it’s personality that often steals your heart.  (He also makes some very cute babies)

We’re excited to introduce you to each member of our herd over the coming months, and we couldn’t think of a better one to start with.
