A Vision Rooted in Stewardship, Strong Bloodlines, and Purposeful Breeding

Welcome to the very first edition of Life at Alcovy.

We’re so glad you’re here.

Alcovy River Farms was born from a dream that had been growing for years. While many people know our owner, Kent Miller, as a longtime Metro Atlanta real estate broker, those closest to him know his greatest passion has always been animals, open pastures, and the quiet satisfaction that comes from caring for the land.

What began as a lifelong dream has become a working farm built on stewardship, family, and an unwavering commitment to quality.

Nestled in the Georgia countryside, Alcovy River Farms is home to registered Dorper sheep, miniature donkeys, Quarter Horses, and Aberdeen cattle. Every animal on our farm is registered, reflecting our commitment to preserving strong bloodlines, maintaining breed integrity, and producing livestock with purpose.

Whether someone visits our farm, follows us online, or eventually purchases an animal from us, we want them to know one thing: quality is never an accident.

Our Philosophy

Every breeding decision begins with the future in mind.

We carefully select genetics that promote structural correctness, sound temperament, maternal ability, longevity, and overall performance. Our goal is not simply to raise livestock—it is to improve with each generation.

Whether it’s a newborn lamb taking its first steps, a curious foal learning about the world, or a young calf grazing beside its mother, every animal represents years of planning, thoughtful breeding decisions, and daily care.

Strong bloodlines provide the foundation, but stewardship is what allows those genetics to reach their full potential.

Pasture-Raised Aberdeen Cattle

One of the values that defines our cattle program is our commitment to raising pasture-raised Aberdeen cattle.

Our cattle spend their lives grazing as nature intended, developing naturally on quality pasture. We believe this approach supports healthier animals, responsible land management, and a breeding program built on longevity rather than shortcuts.

Our focus is on producing cattle with excellent genetics, sound structure, and the kind of disposition that makes them enjoyable to work with every day.

A Hands-On Farm

At Alcovy River Farms, caring for livestock isn’t something we outsource.

Our family is on the farm multiple times each day, walking the pastures, checking animals, observing behavior, and making sure every animal receives the attention it deserves.  You’ll find Kent, David, Ann-Marie, Reagan and Tori working on something at the farm throughout the day.

Our two young daughters are growing up surrounded by livestock, learning firsthand the values of patience, compassion, responsibility, and hard work. Some of our favorite moments happen during evening pasture rides, checking fences together, or watching a newborn find its footing.

Those moments remind us that this farm is about more than producing exceptional livestock. It’s about building a legacy.

Looking Ahead

As Alcovy River Farms continues to grow, so does our commitment to raising exceptional livestock and serving families, breeders, and fellow livestock enthusiasts throughout Georgia and beyond.

Through Life at Alcovy, we’ll share stories from the farm, breeding insights, educational articles, new arrivals, seasonal updates, and the everyday moments that make this life so rewarding.

Whether you’re searching for registered Dorper sheep, miniature donkeys, Quarter Horses, or pasture-raised Aberdeen cattle in Georgia—or simply enjoy following life on a family farm—we’re honored to have you along for the journey.

Thank you for joining us.

Welcome to Life at Alcovy. Until next time, we’ll be in the pasture.
